    Bank ABC appoints new Head of Asia and General Manager for its Singapore branch

    MENA Newswire: Bank ABC announces the appointment of Cherie Teng as its new Head of Asia and General Manager for its Singapore branch. She takes over from Ms. Kaheng Leaw, who previously held this position, and had a 16-year career with Bank ABC. MENA’s leading international bank sets eyes on deeper penetration into Asia, bringing in new leadership to further its growth agenda in this increasingly important market for the Bank.

Her outstanding track record in the Asian market reinforces our confidence in her abilities to grow our business in this key market.” “We’d also like to thank Kaheng for her commitment and hard work over the years and the remarkable leadership she displayed as the Group Asia Head and GM of our Singapore branch,” he added.

    Commenting on her newly-assigned role, Ms. Teng said, “There’s a definite energy in the Group’s senior leadership, which is eager to transform the Bank and challenge the status quo.     In a career spanning over 25 years, Cherie has successfully held several senior wholesale banking roles with world-leading banks. She joined the Bank ABC Group from HSBC Singapore. There, she held the position of MD, Head of Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, responsible for a portfolio of over 400 group relationships. Prior to that, she was with Standard Chartered Bank, where she started her career as an International Management Trainee and left as MD, Head Global Corporates, Wholesale Bank. Ms. Teng earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of London, United Kingdom.
