Egypt’s net international reserves rose to a record $57.2145 billion at the end of August 2026. The total increased by about $920.6 million during August, extending a series of monthly gains in 2026 and taking Egypt’s official foreign reserves above $57 billion for the first time. Annual growth was about 16.2% compared to August 2025, with reserves increasing by 11.2% during the first eight months of 2026. Remittances from Egyptians working abroad also reached a record level during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, contributing to the elevated foreign currency inflows.
